EXS-Series Blast Simulators

The EXS-Series gives training chiefs and instructors the ability to safely recreate sudden blast events that challenge awareness, communication, positioning, and tactical decision-making under stress.

 

Built for realism and full control, these wireless, propane-oxygen simulators generate rapid pressure cues and dynamic visual effects that mirror the unpredictable conditions found in vehicle fires, structural pops, thermal runaways, backdraft moments, and B.L.E.V.E. escalation.

 

Designed and manufactured in San Marcos, Texas, the EXS-Series delivers repeatable, high-impact training without sacrificing safety, equipment, or operational tempo.

The EXS-40 is a single-man portable, wired or wirelessly controlled explosive blast simulator designed to replicate small to medium sized ordinance and explosions. It's extremely light-weight design allows for maximum mobility and use in close quarters.

The EXS-60 is a completely self-contained, single-man portable, wirelessly controlled explosive blast simulator designed to be used in close proximity training with mounted and dismounted personnel.

The EXS-80 is a single-man portable, wired or wirelessly controlled explosive blast simulator designed to replicate medium-sized ordnance such as artillery impact, anti-tank mines, or improvised explosive devices.

The EXS-400 is the largest explosive blast simulators available on the market.​

 

The specialized nature of these devices allows for large-scale explosive simulation such as Close Air Support or Artillery Impact.

OPCON manufactures a unique line of visual effects shots designed for use with OPCON Blast Simulators. Every Powder Containment Shell, or "PuCS" for short, is biodegradable and environmentally safe.

 

They are weather resistant, and come in a variety of colors to include: Natural Earth, Black, Yellow, Fireball, and Magnesium Flash.
